Cost of wedding flowers in New Jersey
Florist at work in Jersey City
What should I be spending on floral designs for my wedding? This is the burning question on everyone’s mind when they are newly engaged. It is difficult to provide an all inclusive number immediately without knowing more about what the client is looking for. There are quite a few factors that go into it. All the while remembering floral/event design is both a product and a service.

Quantity:
Simply put, how many things you will need. Do you have an intimate group or 15 bridesmaids? Something to keep in mind when creating your guest list or your wedding party. Each item is priced individually and then totalled line by line.
Lushness:
The complexity of the design is certainly a top factor in determining the cost. The more flowers you desire, the more product we will need to source. A lush design requires more time and people to accomplish the concept. A chuppah completely covered in flowers will certainly cost more than a partially covered chuppah design. More detailed designs require additional planning and staff to accomplish. With all of the events we design, there is a limited amount of time to realize the making of it. Our success starts with collaboration with the other vendors and the planning to create a smooth day.
Ingredient Choice:
There are literally thousands of flower combinations we could come up with to make your special day unique. Which flowers we select all depends on the season, the color palette and the overall style our client desires. There are some premium flowers which are costly during any season, like orchids for instance. Peonies are another example of a flower whose price fluctuates with the seasonal availability. Here in New Jersey, they bloom locally around Mother’s Day and this is when the price is more affordable. It’s important to be flexible and allow your florist to make the suggestions that align with your budget.

Labor & Setup:
A portion of the cost of the floral designs is related to the help needed to produce the beauty! This starts with our communication from the onset leading up to the day of the event. It includes the sourcing of the ingredients, an in person meeting, a sample of your centerpiece. On the big day, we bring your personal flowers to you wherever you may be starting your day. Then we head to the venue space to begin the installation of all the florals, candles and decor accessories. We stay onsite during the ceremony to make sure things go smoothly and then re-imagine the ceremony florals in strategic spots of the reception. Often at the end of the night, we return to the event space to clean-up and distribute the flowers to guests.
